Discoverers 12 months -24 months

In our Discoverers room, you will see 12 months to 24 months children exploring their world around them. Our Toddler Program will help your child discover new things through quality early learning experiences and help build your child's road to success.

A Helping Hand

In the Discoverers Room, our caregivers will provide your child with encouragement and praise as they take their first steps, and speak their first words. As your child develops new abilities, our caregivers are ready to offer guidance and support.

Routines

We believe that a routine plays a key role in the day of a Toddler room. Therefore,  we established a daily schedule. It provides a balance of activities throughout the day to include active and quiet times, free play, group time, indoor and outdoor play.

Learning is Fun

In our Discoverers Room, your child will have fun while learning. Our curriculum follows lesson plans that reflect a variety of activities to develop your child's language skills, gross and fine motor skills and cognitive skills. Our caregivers receive special training on our curriculum and other important child development topics.

Environment

We designed the classroom to provide for a safe and stimulating environment for your child. Our classroom has an assortment of learning centers to balance the needs of an active toddler.

Messy Zone

The messy zone is where your child will have an opportunity to explore and create.  An Art Center is located in the messy zone with materials for coloring, painting and drawling. In this center, your child will use their fine motor skills ,imagination and creativity. Class art projects are conducted in the Art Room, but we believe that it is important for children to have the choice during free time to create with art materials. The Science Center allows your child to have the opportunity to conduct simple science activities such as sensory and water play.  We have a sensory table that is filled with a new texture weekly.

Active Play

Toddlers are very active, therefore we designed our Discoverers Room with lots of space for active play. We have a Block Center that has an assortment of building blocks to provide opportunities for your child to construct and use their imagination. You child will also use their coordination skills. Our Dramatic Center allows your child to play "pretend" and provide an opportunity for your child to understand their experience through role playing. Your child will also begin simple math skills as they wash their dishes and set the table. In the Music Center, materials for shaking, banging, and dancing are available. Your child will begin to learn rhythms and vocabulary skills.

Quiet Play

Even the most active toddler needs a quiet area to collect themselves. Our Reading Center has soft pillows and furniture for your child to relax and look at books. We have an assortment of books to help your toddler learn new words and objects. The Manipulative Center is also in our quiet area. Here your child will develop fine motor skills with puzzles, stacking toys, and sorting materials. Your child will learn simple math skills and sequencing.

Learning Rooms

In this classroom, the children will have the opportunity to use each learning room daily. Special activities related to the curriculum will be conducted in the learning rooms.
