Classrooms
Let's take a tour of a classroom inside Plantation Child Care and Development Center.
First, we enter into our "Entry Zone". This is a key zone for the busy working parent. Here you will find your child's personal cubby for their belongings and their daily work. A Parent Information Center with special announcements, menu's and other important information is located here.
Now, we move further into the classroom where you will see child size furniture which holds a variety of age appropriate toys for your child to explore and learn. Our shelves have materials for fine motor development, role playing, cognitive development, language development, science activities, and creative expression.
Let's take a closer look around the room. Each classroom was carefully designed to provide for an appropriate learning environment for the age group of the children in care. Each room is divided into three zones.
Messy Zone This area of the classroom was designed to provide a space for children to explore. Your child will enjoy sensory activities, water play and art projects in the messy zone.
Active Zone The active zone is where gross motor activities take place. Your child will have an opportunity to role play in our dramatic play area, build towers in the block area and enjoy signing and dancing to children's music.
Quiet Zone The quiet zone is for calming activities. Our reading corner is located here with soft furniture. A table is set up in this area for table activities such as sorting, puzzles, and other assorted table top materials.
Each room has changing areas and child size bathrooms. Our large windows will provide your child with sunshine and an opportunity to observe nature. For naptime, we have dimmer lights to provide adequate lighting to supervise the children. Each room has a door that leads directly to the playground.
