Adventurers 3 years - 4 years

Our preschool children ages 3 years to 4 years olds can be found in the Adventurers room getting ready for a new and exciting activity. We believe at this age, your child is ready for adventure and to try new things.

Friendly chats

Our caregivers will sit and talk to your child about their new adventures and fantasies. Your child will be encouraged to express their feelings and thoughts. Our caregivers will challenge your child to learn new things.

Routines

Your child will take an active role in setting the class schedule. We believe that involving children will make them more engaged in classroom activities. The daily schedule will have a balance of activities to include group time, active and quiet play, meal time and rest periods.

Environment

We designed the classroom to provide for a rich and stimulating environment for your child. Learning areas are set up to encourage social, physical, and cognitive development. Each learning area has rules in order to teach them sharing and classification. In every learning area, there are a designated number of necklaces. The necklaces set the number of children that can be in the area at one time. Each child that enters the learning area will put a necklace on. Before a child can leave, they need to clean up their area and put the necklace away.

Messy Zone

The messy zone is where your child can enjoy getting messy while exploring new materials.  An Art Center is located in the messy zone with materials for creative design. Collage materials are available as well as coloring, painting and drawling. In this center, your child will use their fine motor skills and their imagination and creativity. Class art projects are conducted in the Art Room, but we believe that it is important for children to have the choice during free time to create with art materials. The Science Center allows your child to have the opportunity to conduct simple science experiences and learn cause and effect. Planting, examining, and exploring nature are part of the science center. A science table is available for your child to put creepy crawly creatures under observation to take a closer look.

Active Play

An active area is provided for activities that need lots of space to spread out and work. The Block Center  has an assortment of building blocks to provide opportunities for your child to construct and use their imagination. Accessories such as cars, people, street signs and plastic animals are available to add to the fun of construction. Our Dramatic Center allows your child to play "pretend" and provide an opportunity for your child to understand their experience through role playing. A kitchen center, woodworking center, dress up clothes and puppets are some of the materials in this area. In the Music Center, musical instruments are available for children to learn rhythms and repetition.

Quiet Play

We have a quiet area in our classroom that allows your child an opportunity to relax.  Our Reading Center has soft pillows and furniture for your child to read books. Books with numbers, letters, shapes, and concepts are available for your child. The Manipulative Center is also in our quiet area. Here your child will work on their fine motor skills. Sequencing, lacing and organizing materials are provided for your child.

Learning Rooms

In this classroom, the children will have the opportunity to use each learning room daily. Special activities related to the curriculum will be conducted in the learning rooms.
